Discover (or re-discover) the Eastern Townships!

Offered through Townshippers’ Association, this remarkable project is part of the Place aux jeunes en région initiative to counter youth exodus and encourage qualified young professionals to migrate and settle in the regions.  While the Place aux jeunes en région network manages each area by MRC, Make Way for YOUth covers the entire Estrie region and is the only one in Quebec that specifically targets the English-speaking population.

Since 2006, Townshippers’ has been offering support services to help young English-speakers settle in the region via its Make Way for YOUth project. This project provides a unique opportunity for post-secondary students and graduates to receive help and support when choosing where they wish to settle and begin their careers.

Discovery Days

Make Way for YOUth offers an exciting introduction to the Estrie English-speaking community via a variety of FREE activities. What better way could there be to get to see and know the region? If you are thinking about moving to the Estrie, consider participating in one of our Discovery Days activities to ‘test out’ the region for FREE. It’s a small commitment that has big potential rewards for you and your future!

The Discovery Days activities provide you with the perfect chance to explore the region and begin putting into place a network of contacts. The weekends planned by the migration agent allows individuals to discover or rediscover the Estrie, where meals, transportation, and accommodation are provided for.  If you have recently moved to the area, don’t worry! You can still participate in the Make Way for YOUth activities. If you’ve lived in your new home for less than a year, you are eligible to participate in the activities taking place in the Estrie. This permits those who are not necessarily familiar with the area to get a glimpse of what it’s all about, who knows, you might just learn some new things about your new surroundings! You get to taste the Estrie in one tasty bite-sized weekend, so open wide, and taste the Estrie with us.
