]]>We would like somebody to do office work, ideally one day/week, maybe Thursdays for, say, 5 hours. But we are flexible. The hours are flexible, and the tasks can be tailored to the person’s skills.
The volunteer would be supervised by Rev. Carole, who is a super nice person to work with! It would involve filing and organizing things in the office, and working on the internet and computer. For example, typing up the Order of Service, printing and photocopying it, or producing handouts and posters. Updating the website, maintaining the membership and visitors’ bank, and so on. I would say the job description could vary depending on the volunteer’s skills and interests.
This could be good experience for someone on their way to entering the workforce, or for someone tired of the workforce, but who would like an interesting very part-time but very regular “pretend” job.
Perks: Interesting stuff happen at UUEstrie! Scope for initiative and creativity. Satisfaction of getting the office organized. Working closely with the pastor, good source of a reference if it is ever needed. If travel is an impediment, we could scrape the bottom of the barrel and surely come up with a travel allowance to cover the cost of gas, or arrange carpooling from, say, Lennoxville.
