Under the supervision of the president, in collaboration with the assistant dispatcher, the dispatcher plans and dispatches transportation movements by maximizing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of truck fleet operations.

Your professional responsibilities

Calculate transport rates for new routes (using the cost price method);
Prepare and follow up on required documentation (e.g. customs documentation, etc.);
Communicate with customers and suppliers to schedule receiving and shipping times;
Transmit the planning transportation movements to truck drivers and directions when necessary;
Track operations using the satellite system;
Respond to information and support requests from truck drivers;
Ensure that truck drivers use the optimal route considering weight, consumption, fuel factors as well as the duration of trips;
Ensure the fleet complies with the various regulations of Canada and the United
States;
Solve operational problems on a daily basis;
Perform other related duties.

Qualifications

College diploma in transport logistics or equivalent;
Minimum three (3) years experience in transportation dispatching (flatbed an asset);
Bilingualism (spoken 5/5 /, written 4/5);
Good geographic knowledge;
Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and dispatching software);
Good interpersonal skills;
Aptitude in problem solving;
Customer-focused;
Autonomy and leadership;
Integrity and trustworthiness.
