Description

The Head of technical training is in charge of developing inspiring and practical training programs to support the services Groupe Robert offers. He will analyse corporative training needs and will offer online programs with the required skills to reach his internal clients’ business plan. He will develop required technical competencies with the help of innovative, high-quality training programs that are interesting and assure the transfer of learning.

Under the authority of the Director, Organisationnal Development & Training, the Head of technical training will oversee the management of the projects regarding the transformation of classroom-training courses into online training (e-learning). Furthermore, he will assure the development of new training courses for each of Groupe Robert’s business unit. All the projects will integrate adult education principles (andragogy) and will have learning strategies ensuring the learner – regardless of the learning mode – a transfer of knowledge that is profitable to the Organization. Section head, technical training will also oversee the development of instructors and ensure the quality of the information distribution. The incumbent needs to possess great project management skills, training development abilities and aptitudes in developing a team of training developers (under his supervision). He will make sure to work with the business units to develop a network of training instructors. He will also supervise the training developers. Moreover, the area manager has to enjoy group work as much as working on an autonomous basis. The candidate will have to travel occasionally to meet his internal clients in their workplace.

Your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Methodically evaluate global technical training needs;
• Manage the training development team;
• Establish and enforce deliverables – schedules, high-quality content;
• Develop a network of training instructors for each of the Groupe Roberts’s business unit;
• Oversee the management of the projects regarding the transformation of classroom-training courses into online training (e-learning);
• Work in consultation and collaboration with different divisions of the Groupe Robert, Training and external firms to carry out mandates;
• Ensure the usage of the best training practices and assure quality during the creation and teaching phases;
• Ensure that precise evaluation methods are in place in order to evaluate the training’s efficiency;
• Establish/review creation and teaching standards;
• Conceive basic training programs and punctual modules to support initiatives aiming to fill in performance gaps;
• Adopt a positive attitude focused on the service, show enthusiasm and motivation at all times;
• Establish and maintain solid relationships with employees form all levels of the company.

In order to join Groupe Robert's team, you must have:

• Master’s degree in Training Management;
• 5 years of experience in training needs analysis and in training program & activities after having obtained a Master’s diploma;
• 5 years experience in project management;
• Bilingual (French and English – spoken and written);
• Manifest abilities in andragogical training material conception;
• Excellent comprehension of andragogical principles in a classroom, on the field and online/hybrid learning;
• Great ability to assess needs and training project editing;
• Capacity to give and receive constructive feedback;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Open-mindedness and desire to examine multiple points of view on a given topic;
• Demonstrated competencies for internal and external consultations;
• Solid questioning and problem-resolving skills;
• Good knowledge of MS Office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MindJet;
• Desire to learn new things in a busy and constantly evolving work environment;
• Strong sense of organisation;
• Commitment to providing high-quality service;
• Ease in working in fields where there are many regulations to respect.
• Experience in 4MAT and accelerated learning programs (asset);
• Experience in learning technologies (ex. Articulate, Captivate, Storyline, etc.) (asset).
