Description of the Position:

The ideal candidate will have 5 to 9 years of experience in the manufacturing sector and be perfectly bilingual (French and English). Reporting directly to the President, he or she will be responsible for ensuring proper corporate governance with respect to growth objectives, obligations and applicable laws, as well as for overseeing the work of the accounting department.

The accounting department is responsible for handling the company’s financial affairs and for providing management with detailed reports on the company’s sales, production and other general performance indicators.

Main Responsibilities:

Know the full accounting cycle, notably:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and explain variances between actual and budgeted financial results
  • Manage the entire month-end close process
  • Oversee and verify accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Manage cash flow
  • Analyze the cost price and profitability of projects
  • Ensure the proper accounting for inventories
  • Prepare monthly reports as required by the bank
  • Ensure the proper management of customer credit and follow up on overdue accounts
  • Prepare financial analyses such as profitability and productivity ratios
  • Help to prepare budgets
  • Prepare the external audit file and act as a resource person in the annual audit process
  • Produce various internal and external reports in compliance with applicable laws
  • Verify statutory reports (GST/QST, etc.)
  • Perform all other related tasks

Required Competencies:

  • Accounting designation (CPA, CA or CPA, CMA)
  • Minimum of (5) years’ experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of financial statement consolidation
  • Perfect mastery of written and spoken English and French
  • Comfortable using ERP systems (GENIUS an asset) and accounting software (ACCPAC an asset)
  • Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
